Grow Up, Hanu!

Hanu's life in small farm town Meadowbrooke hills is as pleasant as pink lemonade on a summer day and simple as delivering orders to his uncle's customers.  But that life is turned upside down when the children of cultists move into his home, the girl with a crush on him goes missing, and Hanu's small farm community gets caught up in a war between a revolutionary, egalitarian society of bandits and the nobility and mage army of the capital city Vanguard. In the end, Hanu must decide whether he will risk the power of his demon to find the girl and save his friends, sacrificing himself and releasing the greatest villain the world of Tierra has seen.

My Progess so far: '

I am at the Query stage: which basically means, I write a professional letter to agents who say they are interested in the type of novel I have, and then they tell me whether or not they want to read my work. It is a very stressful process. I have made lots of mistakes.

2 fulls, 1 partial, 15 rejections.  Not bad odds if you know anything about the querying process. It only takes one agent to say yes.

Finding a literary agent is really tough. It does not help that my novel is 120k, which is apparently out of the ordinary for middle grade work. I understand this, and I have tried cutting back but then I get a sinking pit in my stomach. Sometimes your story just has to be told the way you dream it.
